Q1 -How will I know my entry has been received?
We will acknowledge all entries shortly after the closing date, and you find out if you have been short-listed by the date advised in the entry brochure.

Q2 - Does my entry have to be a certain maximum number of pages in length?
No, as long as the entry does not exceed 2000 words (excluding the 100-word executive summary).

Q3 - Does it matter if my entry is less than 2000 words?
No, this is a maximum. (However, it’s unlikely that entries of less than 1000 words will contain sufficient detail to secure your place as a finalist).

Q4 - My executive summary is 150 words – does this matter?
The 100 words is intended as a guideline, so please try to stick to roughly this number; however you will not be penalised if it’s slightly longer.

Q5 - If I inadvertently miss something out or stray from the specified format, will I be disqualified?
No. If we need clarification on any aspect of your entry we will contact you. We are keen to make it as straightforward as possible for people to enter and the specified framework is intended to help, not hinder this.

Q6 - Does my executive summary have to be anonymised (like most of the examples on the website)?
All or part of the executive summary may be reproduced if you are short-listed (for example in publications connected with the event), so you need to ensure you are happy for the content of this section to be made public. The actual product/market must be clearly identified in the main part of your entry submission, but whether or not you choose to name them in the executive summary is up to you.

Q7 - What about confidentiality – who is going to be looking at my entry?
The BOBI Awards Steering Committee will be screening the entries and selecting the finalists – their names are listed on the BHBIA website. All members have signed a confidentiality undertaking, and are bound by this undertaking not to use or discuss any information contained in the entries outside of the screening process. Sub-groups within the Steering Committee will be given responsibility for screening each category, and potential conflicts of interest will be taken into account. However, you also have an opportunity (on the entry form) to specify any organisations whose employees you do not wish to view your entry.

Q8 - I am submitting an entry jointly with another organisation that is not a BHBIA member. Do we have to pay an entry fee?
As long as the person who takes overall responsibility for submitting the entry is from a BHBIA member organisation, you do not have to pay a fee.

Q9 - Does the entry form have to be sent by post?
Preferably, yes. We have requested that the entry forms are sent by post as signatures are required. However, if it is easier you may scan the form and email it with your entry, marked strictly confidential.
