BHBIA Legal and Ethical Guidelines for Healthcare Market Research                          (including Adverse Event Reporting)

Training Workshop
Thursday 18th November 2010

Trafalgar Events Conference Centre, 8-9 Northumberland Street, London WC2N 5DA

As Pharmaceutical companies gear up their emphasis on compliance across all areas of marketing activity, adherence to the Legal and Ethical Framework for Healthcare Market Research (the 'BHBIA Guidelines') has never been more important.

This one-day workshop has been completely revised and updated to reflect changes in BHBIA guidance including updates to the ABPI Adverse Event Reporting Guidelines to meet the MHRA's requirements, other recent changes in the legal and ethical environment and the work of the Ethics and Guidelines Task Force over the course of 2009. The workshop will be highly interactive, giving you the in-depth understanding that comes from working through case-studies and discussing real-life issues with colleagues from across the industry.

The workshop has been updated for 2010 with the latest guidance on adverse event reporting. This follows the BHBIA's consultation process with the ABPI regarding practical implementation of the latest ABPI AER Guidelines. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss the implications of the changes, and a member of the ABPI's Pharmacovigilance Expert Network will be on hand to answer your questions.

Topics:

A new section has been added to cover recent changes in guidance, including what's changed with respect to AE reporting guidance.

The day will then cover the these topics, following the steps of a market research project from the RFP stage through to closing the project:

  • RFP & Proposal Stage
  • Sample & Respondent Ethics

  • Recruitment & Recompense (including guidance on Clause 20 of the ABPI Code)
  • Questionnaires, Guides & Stimulus materials
  • Fieldwork (including different methodologies, AE collection and observation)
  • Analysis, Reporting & Publication
  • Closing a Project (AER reconciliation & data storage)

Who should attend?

The workshop is suitable for all healthcare business intelligence professionals who would like to refresh their knowledge and understand the new areas covered in the revised Legal and Ethical Framework.

Please note: The "Introduction to Pharmaceutical Business Intelligence and Market Research" course in November includes an overview of the Guidelines, but this workshop will go into much more detail and is suitable for all levels. It is complementary to the web-based training programmes.
