Introduction

This course is one of a series provided by the British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association (BHBIA), aimed at providing comprehensive training in the areas of Pharmaceutical Market Research & Business Intelligence.

BHBIA courses are unique in that they are run by the BHBIA, a non profit making Industry body. Lectures are provided by experts drawn from both Pharmaceutical Companies and Agencies to provide high quality and unbiased training

Content

Suitable for Pharmaceutical Company & Research Agency personnel, typically with 6 to 18 months experience, this course provides a solid grounding in the basics of healthcare market research and business intelligence practice.

This is a 3 day residential course, utilising a range of delivery techniques including plenary sessions, “hands on” practice, role plays, syndicates and case studies. Evening events provide an excellent opportunity to network with other delegates and lecturers.

Topics include:

  • The research process from both the company and agency perspectives
  • The difference between qualitative and quantitative research and when each is appropriate
  • Best practice in market research including client-agency relationships and effective implementation of results
  • The do’s and don’ts of presenting data
  • Understanding the various business information audits – including a workshop session bringing together data from multiple sources
  • The Legal and Ethical Framework for Healthcare Market Research (BHBIA Guidelines)


The course will be highly interactive, with ‘hands-on’ practice, group discussions and syndicate work throughout. A final case study provides the opportunity for practical application of everything that has been learned.
