NHS Update 27th November
ABPI Offices, London
Introduction
The NHS seems to be forever in a state of flux – organisations are once again being restructured, and new systems being put in place.
This workshop will allow delegates to fully explore the key policies being implemented, their impact on commissioners and service providers, and the opportunities they present to the pharmaceutical industry.
Content
The course is continually updated in line with latest NHS developments and recent additions to the content include increased detail on medicines management, including an exercise on managed entry.
Key areas to be covered:
- How the NHS structure fits together, the roles of organisations and how the planning, commissioning, funding and performance management systems work within England in line with the Darzi review
- How the White Paper Our Health, Our Care, Our Say: a new direction for community services and the interlinking health care reforms fit together
- To explore the key NHS changes and the resultant opportunities for the industry and market research
- To review developments with medicines management and the managed entry of new drugs
- To look at the key differences within the NHS in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The workshop will be run for us by John Davis of Springboard Consultancy, who has extensive practical experience of working with NHS personnel, in particular running away-days for practice-based commissioning groups.
Comments from previous delegates include:
'John is a total expert - clear, enthusiastic and interesting. Never once confusing, and able to structure and simplify to the appropriate degree'
'He made a complex structure easy to understand and follow'
'Very relevant to market research'
The course is continually updated to ensure that you will receive up to the minute information about the latest NHS changes. You will gain an understanding of what these changes mean for the pharmaceutical industry, and a chance to discuss them amongst a group of fellow business intelligence professionals.
