NHS Update
25th November 2010

Trafalgar Events Conference Centre, 8-9 Northumberland Street, London WC2N 5DA

Overview

The NHS seems to be forever in a state of flux – organisations are once again being restructured and new systems being put in place. This workshop will allow delegates to fully explore the key policies being implemented, their impact on commissioners and service providers, and the opportunities they present to the pharmaceutical industry.

The BHBIA NHS Update workshop has been completely revised and will be run for us by Michael Sobanja, an experienced senior executive, management consultant, facilitator and trainer. Michael is the Chief Executive of the NHS Alliance and holds other key board level posts and advisory roles.

The workshop is aimed at those who have a good understanding of the NHS and would like an opportunity to review the most recent developments and their implications for those of us working in business intelligence. The precise content will be finalised in line with latest NHS developments. The flexibility to meet individual delegate needs and incorporate current topics is a critical element of the workshop design.

Key areas to be covered:

- The Big Picture - An overview of NHS Policy and Drivers

- Commissioning in the NHS

- Performance Management in the NHS

- Medicines Management in the NHS

- Partnership Working

Up to the minute topics added for 2010 include the QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention) / QPC (Quality Productivity Challenge) initiatives, the Annual Operating Plan issued in December 2009 and discussion of various political scenarios.
