Researching Financial Prescribing Drivers
25th September
ABPI Offices,
London

The focus of this workshop will be on understanding the financial, political and clinical drivers of prescribing and the interplay between these.

The content of the course has been revised to increase its relevance to UK market researchers and will include:

- Local pricing policies and the impact of practice-based commissioning and PCT pressure on prescribing

- How to develop marketing messages which overcome financial barriers and how to identify opportunities for the use of new and more expensive drugs

- Syndicated research outputs exploring the political environment and how this affects the price elasticity of customers

- Central strategic pricing issues

In addition, the pros and cons of a variety of classic pricing research techniques will be covered:

- Van Westendorp Price Sensitivity Meter/Perceived Value Pricing

- Monadic Pricing Research/Gabor Granger

- Conjoint analysis - adaptive, choice-based and full profile techniques

Whether or not you are involved in conducting specific pricing research projects, the workshop will help you understand how to build in pricing considerations when researching your brand, and will help you to participate confidently in strategic pricing discussions with your global colleagues.
