The BHBIA runs a comprehensive training programme to help develop the skills of those working in a business intelligence capacity in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company or marketing research agency. These courses are also very relevant to those who need to use the results of marketing research in their jobs.
The training programme stretches from an assessment of the basics of healthcare business intelligence up to exploring some of the more complicated and esoteric techniques and approaches which might be used. The different courses are intended to strike a balance between educating delegates about how they might undertake different types of marketing or sales research/analytics and providing delegates with the benefit of experience regarding best practice and management issues.
Many previous delegates have also commented upon the opportunities the courses provide to make contacts with peers within healthcare business intelligence from an early stage.
The Training Course Programme covers 3 areas:
Foundation Training
Ethics and Guidelines Training
One-day Workshops
Most of the one-day workshops are run on a voluntary basis by senior personnel within healthcare business intelligence, who are pleased to assist in developing business intelligence skills for the industry as a whole. For certain topics the BHBIA commissions professional trainers who are experts in the relevant areas.
The workshops are aimed at intermediate/advanced level business intelligence professionals who would like to develop their knowledge and skills in specific areas, and have an opportunity to discuss topics with peers from across the industry.
Most courses are open to members of all BHBIA divisions as well as non-members, but we may occasionally run members-only events, or workshops for specific divisions - e.g. industry only.
The emphasis of all the courses is on a practical hands-on experience which is made up of workshop sessions interspersed between formal presentations. Dress is informal throughout.
In addition we currently offer 3 web-based training programmes, covering the BHBIA Legal & Ethical Guidelines for Healthcare Market Research and ABPI Adverse Event Reporting Guidelines.
Please note that all the course topics listed are not necessarily covered at each meeting. BHBIA takes into account delegate feedback from previous courses when devising subsequent programmes. BHBIA reserve the right to alter course programmes at any time, without prior notice.
