Best Customer Insight

Awarded for a research or analytical project that has increased understanding of target customers to inform/positively impact strategic decision-making

  • Showcase insights generated from a research or analytical project which has significantly increased a pharma/healthcare company’s understanding of their target customers and has helped to positively impact strategic decision-making
  • Highlight how the insight(s) have had a positive impact on the business or key stakeholders

To bring your submission to life, please answer the following questions:

  • What was the initial business question and what impact were you aiming for?
  • Which stakeholders did you involve from the project outset and why?
  • What methodology/approach did you use and how did you decide on it?
  • What was your final recommendation and what was the impact of the insights on the business, patients and/or the NHS?

Submission Guidelines:


  • Please use Microsoft PowerPoint and protect your file to prevent any further editing (See note below*)
  • Feel free to be creative in your slide design, but please do not use a branded template or include any company logos – to avoid biasing the judging process (However, we realise that your submission may refer to therapy area(s), product and company names – we do not expect you to anonymise it)
  • Maximum submission length: 12 slides, including the two mandatory slides (see below)

Mandatory slides:

  • Executive Summary – one slide - 100 words maximum - this should be pasted into the on-line entry form as well
  • Winner’s statement – one slide - to be read out if your submission is the winning entry - 40 words maximum. Make it impactful: How would you like your entry to be summarised? What made it great? What changes did you engender?

Content from these two slides will be used in publicity if your entry wins or is highly commended, so please ensure that their content is appropriate for publication and do not include any confidential/sensitive details.

Technical details:

  • You may include animation and/or video in your submission, but the total overall run time of these elements cannot exceed 5 minutes
  • If you include video this should be in the form of a link to a video sharing site (if a password is required, be sure to include this in your slides). Do not embed video as this may make your submission too large to upload
  • No other links to external sites will be followed, so please don’t include them
  • The judges will only review content in the main body of the slides; any text in the notes sections will not be read
  • Please do not use slide builds 
  • Maximum file size: 12MB

To enter:

Simply complete an Entry Form and upload your submission with the form.

Please note: the form gives you the opportunity to specify any companies who should not view your entry; you will also need to obtain the necessary permissions from all those listed on the entry.

*To protect a PowerPoint file:

  • Click on the File tab
  • Select Protect Presentation and Mark as Final
  • Optionally, password protect the file.

What happens next?

Judging will take place in late March - the panel for each category will be carefully selected to ensure impartiality, and you have the opportunity, on your entry form, to specify any organisations that you do not want to view your submission.

You will be notified by the end of March whether or not your entry has been highly commended, prior to this being publicised in April. One of the highly commended entries will be announced as the winner at the awards ceremony on 13th May.
