The BOBI Challenge

The official deadline was 14th February, but we have a few spaces left and are currently still accepting entries
Competition day: 11th April 2019
Sponsored by Roche Products Ltd and hosted by SAS

This year's theme: '(Way) beyond the pill'
You'll be asked to imagine that you are supporting the senior management team at a start-up organisation (a disrupter), who have access to some new technologies in the gene mapping/profiling and patient tracking arena.

These technologies will fall broadly into two areas:

  • Prevention – gene mapping/profiling to optimise treatment route for a disease. Patients with a pre-disposition for the condition are (theoretically) much less likely to progress/become symptomatic.
  • Cure – individualised medicine for treating patients with symptomatic disease.

Your team will be tasked with evaluating the options and commercialising one of them. The company is venture capital funded and the measure of success will be a valuation of the company at the end of the competition.

What's involved?

  • A team competition to solve a series of challenges – demonstrate your teamworking as well as your business intelligence skills;
  • The focus is on core abilities and skills, regardless of your specific experience or job role;
  • Enter as an individual – teams will be put together by the organisers on the day, so it’s a chance to work with different people;
  • It will be an intense and challenging experience but you'll also meet others, learn new things and have fun!
  • Not suitable for total newcomers, but otherwise all experience levels are welcome.

How to enter:

All you need to do now is obtain permission (if required), complete an Entry Form, save the date of the competition day, and we will be in touch with more details and to let you know if you have a place.

Places are limited, and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis – so don’t delay!

What happens next?

We will contact you after the entry deadline to let you know if you have a place.
