The BOBI Challenge

BOBI Challenge 2018-19

The next BOBI Challenge will take place in November 2018.

We are currently looking for a company to host the Challenge - you'll need to be able to provide a large room, to hold 40-50 people cabaret style, refreshments and buffet lunch, plus 2 small break-out rooms.

In return you will benefit from the special privileges offered to all BOBI sponsors/hosts:

  • A strong visual presence of your company logo/name on BOBI materials online, in print, via email, at the Awards Ceremony and in the pharmaceutical press
  • Option of a place on the BOBI Committee, giving your company the chance to input into the process and network with peers
  • Option to use the special year-specific BOBI logo on your website/social media pages and/or email sign-offs to show your support
  • The chance for two delegates to attend the awards ceremony (2019) at an exclusive ticket price
  • The option to be involved in the planning of the BOBI Challenge and/or the day itself

If you can provide suitable facilities and are interested in hosting the day, please contact us: by 15th March to express your interest. We will contact you to discuss requirements and potential dates before any commitment is made on either side.

Note: In due course, we will also be looking for a sponsor for the Challenge. The sponsor pays a fee (£2,200+VAT at current rates) and gets to present the trophies (engraved with the sponsor company logo) to the winners, as well as benefiting from all the above privileges).

About the BOBI Challenge


The winners will be announced at the Winter Seminar in December 2018, with the trophies being presented to the winning team at the 2019 BHBIA Annual Conference in May 2019 (alongside all the other 2018-19 BOBI Awards).

The BOBI Challenge is a one-day meeting, based on a fictitious market simulation/case-study scenario. During the day competitors will be taking part in various activities as a team, which might include developing a business plan, scoping out information requirements and launching a product in the face of competition. The day is ideally suited for business intelligence professionals with more than two years' experience, but anyone will benefit from the experience.

Taking part in the BOBI Challenge will stretch your thinking, give you an opportunity to explore new approaches in a safe environment, and provide a chance to connect with colleagues from across the industry and test your teamworking skills.

We are delighted that the event is formally accredited by the MRS, under their CPD scheme.

How to enter


  • There is no fee to enter the BOBI Challenge, but you must work in a full BHBIA member company to take part
  • Suitable for pharma and agency business intelligence professionals from across the market research/ analytics spectrum
  • Individual entry process – no difficulties of getting a team together – teams will be formed on the day (We will look at the experience of the entrants and draw up mixed teams with aim of getting a balance mix of skills and knowledge across each team)
  • Places will be provisionally allocated on a first come first served basis, so book your place early
  • We reserve the right to limit the number of entrants going forward from any one company if capacity is exceeded.
