BHBIA Annual Conference & Professional Development Programme 2027
Call for Content
04 August 2026
You bring the challenge, the case study, the lesson or the solution. We bring the audience.
Healthcare business intelligence moves forward when people share real work, useful learnings, practical ways to improve, and challenges to solve together. We are looking for contributions to our annual conference and professional development programme that can help the industry think differently, make better decisions and strengthen professional practice.
Selected content may be delivered at the BHBIA Annual Conference (26–27 April 2027) Hilton Birmingham Metropole, or as part of our year-round professional development programme.
Submit your ideas by 28 September 2026
Who we want to hear from
We welcome ideas from people working across healthcare market research, insights, analytics, commercial excellence, data, fieldwork and related disciplines from across the globe. This includes pharma and healthcare companies, agencies and consultancies, fieldwork partners, data and technology specialists, and people with transferable learning from outside the sector.
Experienced speakers, first-time contributors and early-career professionals are all welcome. You don't need to be a BHBIA member to submit.
What could you bring?
Bring work that changed a decision, a solution others could adapt, a case with transferable learning, or an honest lesson from something that did not go to plan. Ideas you might explore:
- Trust, ethics and responsible practice, including responsible use of AI and data
- Performance analytics, CRM, segmentation, personas, targeting and omnichannel insight
- Commercial excellence, forecasting, territory design, incentives and measuring impact
- Data management, integration, administration, visualisation and decision-ready evidence
-
How insight teams are delivering more with less across the UK and global markets
-
What healthcare BI can learn from other functions, markets and sectors
-
Transitioning from market research to data analytics
Diverse perspectives are encouraged and valuable – from clients, internal stakeholders, patients and customers, as much as from the agency and consultancy teams behind projects. Proprietary tools may be referenced where the learning remains useful beyond one product or supplier.
Use these prompts to frame your idea
1. What problem, opportunity or decision did you address?
2. What did you try, discover or learn?
3. What could others do differently as a result?
4. How could the audience take part?
5. Whose voice would add value?
Choose a format that fits the idea
- Case study: a real example with a clear decision, result or lesson
- Workshop or learning lab: a practical session in which participants try, build or solve something
-
Panel or roundtable: several perspectives with purposeful audience input
-
Fireside chat or debate: a focused conversation around an important industry issue
-
Short talk: a concise idea, method or provocation with a clear takeaway
-
Webinar: a live online session delivered as part of our professional development programme, ideal for ideas better suited to a focused, remote audience
-
Something different: we welcome all formats — if it's not covered above, let us know
Why contribute?
Bring your experience to a specialist community, connect with people who value your expertise and help shape better healthcare business intelligence. Selected contributors receive guidance on content, format and preparation.
How selection works
The BHBIA board reviews ideas for relevance, originality, practicality, audience value and fit with the overall programme. BHBIA aims to create a balanced and diverse programme and may contact contributors to discuss how an idea could be developed or combined.
