The work of our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee focuses on empowering our members to build inclusive teams, deliver insights that represent diverse perspectives and incorporate best practices into all our activities. 

June is Pride month, dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and we are spotlighting DE&I this month through various activities to highlight the importance of inclusivity in healthcare business insights. 

On Wednesday 19th June 2024, we are holding a webinar via Zoom to showcase the recent 2024 winner of the BOBI Chair’s Award; a real-life submission for the best approach to DE&I. 

Leaving Nobody Behind in HIV Prevention and Care

For this webinar, we are delighted to be welcoming Philippa Pristerà, Strategy Director, Cuttsy+Cuttsy and Kathryn Carroll, Manager HIV, Gilead Sciences Ltd, whose collaboration to raise awareness of transgender healthcare led them to win the prestigious BOBI Chair’s Award. 

During this webinar, they will discuss how they worked with experts and advocates to co-create transgender training. This included the use of appropriate language, practical tips and real-life stories to reflect the needs of the trans community and empower HCPs to make trans-inclusive practices the new normal. 

As the winners stated, “Everyone benefits from inclusive healthcare, HCPs and the transgender community alike. In the end, this isn’t just a campaign. It’s our commitment to make sure nobody gets left behind in HIV care.” 

To host this webinar, we will also be welcoming Joel Jitell, Day One Strategy and Bridget Pumfrey, BPR-pharma who are both key members of the BHBIA’s DE&I committee.
