A Tribute to Anthony Rowbottom
December 9th, 2025
The BHBIA is saddened by the news of Anthony Rowbottom’s death. Anthony was a well-known and much-respected member of the healthcare business insights community, and his contributions to the BHBIA over many years included regularly presenting at our Annual Conference and supporting the Association and its members as a sponsor, judge, and finalist in the BOBI Awards. He died in November at The Royal Marsden in Chelsea, following a brave and determined three-year illness.
With two decades of experience in healthcare market research, Anthony held a range of insight roles before co-founding boxee group. The vision behind boxee reflected his belief that healthcare market research could deliver far more meaningful impact, and he was committed to ensuring that insight led to real-world results for patients. This ethos was central to how he worked and to the culture he helped build.
Curiosity and constructive challenge were at the heart of Anthony’s approach. He asked questions that helped people think more clearly and was not afraid to offer a different point of view. He brought the same mindset to emerging technologies, including AI, prompting people to consider carefully whether and how they could genuinely be used to solve practical problems and support better decisions.
Many across our community will remember Anthony’s curiosity, energy, and the kindness that shaped how he worked with others. He approached life and work with purpose, integrity and a sense of humour, and he will be deeply missed.
On behalf of the BHBIA, we extend our sincere condolences to Anthony’s family, friends and colleagues.
