BHBIA Awards for the Best Conference Paper and Training Session

Each year the BHBIA presents two awards to recognise excellence at the Annual Conference. These are awarded to the facilitators/presenters achieving the highest scores, as voted on by the delegates attending the event.

The Keith Munro Award is for the Best Paper

2018 Winner:

Creating a Wave for Change: How Multiple Ripples of Research Served as the Catalyst for a Change in Mental Health Policy

  • Giles Davey - Janssen
  • Rachel Medcalf & Seb Newton - Adelphi Research UK
  • Will Johnstone - Rethink Mental Illness

A unique research project co-created by three interested parties motivated to work together in a pro-bono setting to stimulate a change in government policy and reform of the Mental Health Act.

The John Wheeler Award is for the Best Training Session

2018 Winner:

'Can't Cope ... Don't Care' Real People Make Bad Patients

Traditionally the provision and delivery of pharma treatments has assumed a motivated, compliant patient; but real people don't always look like this - different personalities may need very different kinds of support from pharma. This session explored developing targeted patient nudges.
