Data Controller/Processor Roles Update

12.30-1.30pm via Zoom
Friday 05 February 2021, 12.30pm

THIS WEBINAR HAS BEEN POSTPONED. WE WILL EMAIL ALL MEMBERS WHEN A NEW DATE IS AGREED.

We are still awaiting further guidance from the European Data Protection Board or the ICO upon interpretation of the definition of data controller, and at this stage it is too early to run a webinar as we won't have any new information to share. For the current guidance see the Privacy & Data Protection section of our website. You will find our most recent update: Data Protection Update - Naming the End Client (Oct 2020) in the list of Guidance Notes.

The BHBIA continues to work with the MRS, the ICO on this issue and is liaising with our European counterparts EFAMRO, EphMRA and ESOMAR too.

The European Data Protection Board (EDPB1) has recently published draft Guidelines 07/2020 on the concepts of controller and processor in the GDPR

In this webinar we'll look at what this means for members when determining data controller and processor roles.

In the meantime you can see our brief news item with our initial comments on this issue.

More details - including agenda and speakers - will be available soon, but you can book your place now (however please let us know if you later find that you can't make the date, as we expect this event to be popular and places are limited).
