This data is 100% true…60% of the time!
Accurately, and confidently communicating data to others is a skill, but first we must be sure we understand it, trust it, and can describe it consistently to make it meaningful.

Purpose

Team members with considerable talents to offer an organisation are increasingly disadvantaged if they struggle to back their ideas up with evidence. Allowing colleagues with a range of abilities to access insights from data makes for better decisions. This session will outline why we need to be spending as much time thinking about how we share the data we generate as Insights professionals and makes some practical suggestions on ways to enhance this.

The aim will be for participants to leave with a better appreciation of some of the barriers to understanding that impede the accurate interpretation of data across the wider business. It will provide practical examples of small changes we can all make to improve access to insights from data, and help participants understand the mechanisms by which that leads to better decision making.

What can you expect?

Tips, tricks, and considerations to help those of us living and breathing data and communicating results to those that don’t in an inclusive manner:

  • How far can I trust these data? - Communicating limitations without undermining results
  • What do I take away from this? - Clarity of purpose with data visuals
  • Levels of accuracy and precision - what’s the difference and how does that impact data communication
  • The analysis power vs interpretability trade off - the importance of being sure what you are looking at
  • The importance of terminology, and the dangers of inconsistency within an organisation and the industry

Who should attend?

This workshop is designed for anyone where managing and communicating data forms a large part of your role, working in Pharma companies or agencies. It may also be of value to executives in non-analytical roles who wish to improve their critical thinking skills around data and gain more confidence in interpreting and assessing how best to use data they encounter.
