Face to Face Workshop

BHBIA Challenging Conversations – Making Mindset Matter

Hamilton House, Mabledon Place, London WC1H 9BD
Thursday 20 April 2023, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Why does mindset matter and what role does fear have in your own mindset and communication when having challenging conversations?

This workshop will examine the three levels of fear, five truths about fear and the difference between active and passive communication and overcoming our Gremlins/imposter syndrome as well as introducing techniques which will build your confidence to have those challenging conversations. Handling challenging conversations assertively and respectfully will increase engagement, commitment, build trust to strengthen your relationships and the value that you bring to your stakeholders.

The main objective of this workshop is to provide you with the skills and knowledge to enhance the impact you have in your interactions and to drive even more compelling conversations – which your stakeholders, may or may not agree with, but they will agree to action and implement the suggestions because they value you as their trusted Business Advisor.

The training is for anyone who has:
  1. Attended a BHBIA Empowering the Analyst course. We will utilise the Insights Discovery® Evaluator that was used as part of this course, OR
  2. Attended the BHBIA's short virtual workshop giving you the opportunity to complete an Insights Discovery® Evaluator  OR
  3. Undertaken an Insights Discovery® Evaluator in the past, via company programmes / other institutions.

A completed Insights Discovery® Evaluator is a prerequisite for attending any of the modules as it gives learners a foundation of self-awareness and a common language that we will use during the training (read more information here).

This workshop is module 2 in the BHBIA's new Get Set for Success programme and follows the successful launch of module 1 Building Trust, Rapport and Influence: Partnering with Integrity, which took place in February this year.

These modules are designed to deliver key skills that enable you to go from delivering reports and insights, to becoming an essential and trusted Business Advisor.

Further modules in this series are currently in development - what out for more news later in the year.
