Fieldwork Forum - Nov 2020

3.00-5.00pm via Zoom
Thursday 19 November 2020, 3.00 PM - 5:00 PM

Full members can now view the proceedings of the forum and the slides that were presented

(you'll need to be logged in to access the document - links to the documents will then appear below this text).

Our Fieldwork Forums are focussed on ways to foster best practice and to make sure that fieldwork-related issues are given appropriate prominence with the BHBIA membership generally as well as at our major meetings.

The BHBIA are very keen that our fieldwork members have the opportunity for a stronger voice and increased recognition as valued partners in the market research process. You are very welcome to attend whether or not you have been to one of the previous Fieldwork Forum meetings - and whether you are from a fieldwork company, a market research agency that conducts and/or commissions fieldwork or a pharma client company. BHBIA Personal Members with an interest in fieldwork are also welcome.

Please do join us and get involved!

Draft Agenda:

Welcome and Introductions

Q&A with representatives of the BHBIA Board

  • Attendees will include BHBIA Chairman Paul O'Nions and Engagement Officer Liz Saunders. A chance to put your questions, issues and suggestions to the team.

European Draft Guidance on Data Controllers and Processors

  • Catherine Ayland, our independent Ethics Advisor, and Xavier Fonder, Delivery & Compliance Director, RONIN International, of the BHBIA's Ethics & Compliance Committee, will give an update on the draft guidance and its potential implications, followed by an open discussion. The BHBIA is working closely with the MRS and we hope to secure a joint meeting with the ICO to discuss their response to the EDPB guidelines and the specific implications for the research sector. We are keen to hear your comments and concerns so that we can represent these at the meeting.

Future Fieldwork Forums

  • An open discussion about what topics and speakers you would like to see at future events. Please come with your suggestions, and of course we'd welcome any offers to get involved.

There is no charge for this event but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so please book early to avoid disappointment. In the interest of allowing a range of delegates to join the Forum, whilst still ensuring balanced representation across companies, attendance restrictions have been raised to 4 delegates per company for virtual meetings (2 per company for face to face meetings).

Online Booking

Click on the ‘register for event’ button at the bottom of this page. Please note you must be logged in to book online.

Attendance at this forum is restricted to full BHBIA members only. We will email you to confirm your place and to provide directions to the venue. Please do let us know if you later find that you are unable to attend, so that your place can be given to someone else (or to advise us if a colleague will be taking your place).
