From drug development to Primary Market Research methodologies, Secondary Data sources and uses, to the role Ethics and Compliance plays throughout it all, this one-day workshop is the perfect opportunity to get your new starts or graduate placements up and running.

Purpose

This one-day workshop is aimed at those who are new to the pharmaceutical healthcare industry and working in Business Insights roles in both pharmaceutical companies and agencies. It’s key aim is to provide a full spectrum taster of the key Business Insights disciplines and highlight how these all link together. Hosted by a panel of industry experts, it provides an opportunity to ask role specific questions to those who have lived and breathed the job. It is also an invaluable opportunity for those new to the sector to meet others at the same stage and connect to a community of professionals that may span their Insights careers.

What can you expect?

Students and trainees will be able to 'hit the ground running' after attending this course and will leave with an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and how Business Insights fits within it, as well as having an appreciation of the key knowledge, disciplines and skills needed for a successful career.

This workshop forms part of the BHBIA's new Foundation Series: a collated set of suggested workshops, online study, Legal & Ethical Guidelines training, and networking opportunities for those new to UK Healthcare Business Insights roles. The full series includes:

Who should attend?

It’s suitable for permanent new starters, as well as placement students and short-term interns. Employees who are experienced in Business Insights roles but who are new to pharmaceuticals will also benefit from attending (e.g. market researchers moving from consumer to healthcare roles). However, the course is not recommended for people who are experienced in other areas of the pharmaceutical industry (e.g. sales representatives moving into Head Office).
