Workshop

BHBIA Guidelines in Action

Hamilton House, Mabledon Place, London WC1H 9BD
Thursday 07 March 2024, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Understanding the principles and theory of compliant Market Research is one thing, feeling confident in the practical application of the guidelines can be another.
This workshop is designed to help you put theory into practice.

Purpose

Whether you are new to a Business Insights career or have been working in an Insights role to date, having access to the BHBIA Guidelines to Healthcare Market Research document and sitting your annual online competency certification may not leave you feeling fully prepared to put the guidance into practice, or navigate challenges or issues as they arise.

This one-day workshop is hosted by a panel of experts from the Ethics and Compliance Committee who work with applying the guidelines daily. The hosts will take you through the key purpose and scope of the guidelines, before leading attendees through exercises designed to give you a ‘safe space’ to put theory into practice.

What can you expect?

This task-based workshop is structured around the key steps of a typical market research project, presenting realistic exercises to work through and apply the principles of the Guidelines. The key learning aims are for you to gain:

  • Familiarity with the guidelines and how to apply them in a practical situation with confidence
  • Know where to look
  • Know who to ask
  • Know how to approach a situation

Time is also dedicated to a clinic style session where you can bring your specific questions for discussion.

Regular breaks provide a valuable opportunity to connect with others working in similar roles, as well as meeting the hosts and understanding the full support network available to members through the BHBIA community.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for anyone involved in Primary Market Research and who needs to understand and apply the Guidelines in their roles.

It is a suggested follow-on course for those recently joining the BHBIA Foundation Series of events and activities, or as an ideal companion course to the online competency training and test.

It is also suitable for more experienced professionals taking on more ethics and compliance responsibility who wish to increase their confidence in applying the guidelines or who may need to advise others on the application of the guidelines within their organisations.
